Tri Force Heroes update 2.1.0 is now available

The second major update, version 2.1.0, is now available for Tri Force Heroes. The update’s primary new feature is “Hero Points”. The new points are designed to encourage players to complete levels they did not vote to play. This is likely a response to the trend of players disconnecting from a group when the level they voted to play is not selected. Any player who completes a level they did not vote to play will be rewarded a Hero Point. Hero Points can be used to acquire materials that are needed to obtain missing outfits, but can also be used to gain “special powers and more”.

In addition to the new Hero Points feature, version 2.1.0 includes updates to the user experience and fixes various issues with the gameplay experience. Nintendo did not detail the nature of these fixes.

The new update is available now and is required to continue playing online multiplayer in Tri Force Heroes. The update requires 1008 blocks, which is equivalent to about 138.5 MB.
