On December 27 at 4pm EST, Zeldathon begin their 13th marathon, entitled Zeldathon Relief. Since their very first marathon five years ago, the Zeldathon team have raised over $300,000 for charities such as St. Jude, Child’s Play and the American Red Cross. This go ’round, the charity of choice is Direct Relief.
Direct Relief works to provide healthcare to people all over the world living in poverty or disaster-stricken areas. This includes maternal care for expectant mothers, disease prevention, and emergency response for catastrophes such as the recent Typhoon Hagupit that hit the Philippines.
Mario Kart 8, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, and Hyrule Warriors will all be making their Zeldathon debut. Aside from gaming, the team will also be taking on goofy challenges and singing some Zelda themed songs. Zeldathon Relief will be streamed live on Twitch, and you can even call in and join the fun!
