Archery is more complex than you may think in Super Smash Bros. 4

Super Smash Bros. Wii U - Link and Pit

Aside from the beautiful and amusing screenshots, the thing I love most about the Super Smash Bros. “pic of the day” is how it demonstrates director Masahiro Sakurai’s extreme attention to detail. This new Wii U screenshot shows Link and Pit firing arrows at one another; but it’s Sakurai’s caption on Miiverse which is the real draw here.

“Both Link and Pit use bows, but when they fire simultaneously, their arrows meet and cancel out closer to Pit. Besides attack power and projectile speed, there are many elements that affect tactics, such as accuracy, vulnerability after attacking, and even seemingly unrelated features like a character’s physical abilities.”

Seems like spamming the button quickly won’t be enough to gain the upper hand! It’ll be interesting to see if Fox’s and Falco’s (if he returns for the new instalments) Blasters will also have new attributes.
