Nintendo of America released their Twilight Princess microsite today, and all I have to say is “Wow, what a rip-off”.

So, Nintendo of America is apparently just waking up and jumping Nintendo of Europe bandwagon. They’ve just released their microsite for Twilight Princess, and if I thought things were happily similar between the European and Japanese sites, now I’m just indignant that there’s clearly nothing different on it from the NoE UK page.

From what I can tell, they just copy and pasted all of the European directory files onto a new page, including the exact same downloads section even though NoA already had a few nice wallpapers on their filler page. I can understand that there was a delay on the NoE pages, honestly, because they had to translate the entire site into 7 different languages… But come on, NoA, you only had to do one. Even with a third of a year to put up the site, you didn’t even bother to add anything new to the page…

Did Nintendo of America just forget about making a decent site until yesterday afternoon, where they just desperately ripped NoE’s? Or, worse off, were their filler page supposed to be their big thing and they just didn’t think a flash TP site would do them any good to help advertise the biggest Zelda game since Ocarina of Time?

If it’s the former, that’s lazy and unprofessional, but ultimately forgivable. But if it’s the latter, that’s really annoying. Seriously, Nintendo, even Hotel Dusk managed to get a flash page before TP did, and any simple google search could have told you that TP has a far larger audience base…

Hopefully we won’t have to wait this long next time around… I’m looking at you, Phantom Hourglass!
