10 of the most peaceful locations in Breath of the Wild

by on August 14, 2021

No matter how tough the fight gets in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, a peaceful rest may just be right around the corner. From the hopeful Tarrey Town to the stunning visuals of Sanidin Park Ruins, pockets of peace can be found all over the land, with each one providing a unique take on peace in the post-apocalyptic Hyrule. Despite the large number of resting spots in Hyrule, they can often be hidden or completely missed on the main quest. So relax, take a break, and enjoy a tour around Hyrule’s many wonderful and peaceful locations.

10. Selmie’s Spot

Laying in the shadow of Hebra Peak, Selmie’s Spot defines the word “escapism” for those who are willing to make the trip through the Hebra Region. Covered in a thick layer of snow, this mountain top location is one of the best places for a hero to reflect. On top of the isolation, the gentle snowfall, quaint hut, and views of the Hebra region make Selmie’s Spot a timelessly peaceful place to relax and reflect. And the best part of all is that all your needs are covered by Selmie herself!

The one worry with a visit to this isolated resort is the hard journey to reach it. But any adventurer who is well dressed and equipped should have no trouble reaching Selmie’s nice mountain house. The peace and quiet that one will find in Selmie’s Spot are almost unparalleled, making the trip up Hebra Peak always worth it. Because what’s more relaxing than sipping on a Spicy Elixir while looking over Hyrule?

9. Goron Hot Spring

The name “Death Mountain” may not conjure up peaceful images at first, and the intense heat and lava of the mountain certainly support such a notion. However, on Hyrule’s tallest summit there is an amazingly peaceful getaway, the Goron Hot Spring. Located just up the road from the shops of Goron City, adventurers can soak in these patches of warm water that protect them from the scorching heat. And this hot spring is no ordinary patch of water, as it heals anyone who decides to go for a swim! This spa-like location literally heals the worries of adventures who need to get away for a while.

Far away from the dangers of Death Mountain and the popular Goron City, Goron Hot Spring is a peaceful location where healing is just one short bath away.

8. Lover’s Pond

Legend has it that someone adventuring to Lover’s Pond is likely to find true love while there, and it is easy to see why this legend has come into existence. Well, beyond the heart-shape of the pond of course. First, the bank around this small pond is covered with flowers that bloom all year, including the romantic Hearty Radishes. Second, the serene water of the pond calms the hearts of all its visitors. And last, the pond offers a great view of most of the Faron Region. Together, all these factors make an amazingly peaceful and romantic resting spot.

Whether one is looking for true love or just wants to get away from Hyrule’s dangers, Lover’s Pond is a wonderful place to visit. With such a cute pond and breathtaking views, a trip to Lover’s Pond could not be anything but peaceful.

7. Lurelin Village

Hyrule’s beach fronts tend to be among the most monster-ridden and dangerous places within the kingdom. Lurelin Village, however, with its safe and crystal-clear beaches, is the strong exception to this rule. There is absolutely no need to worry as the gentle crashing of ocean waves over the shore calls players to be at ease.

No location says peace like a beach, and luckily this beach has a quaint village to go alongside it. Home to the famous Fishing Resort and the dockside Lurelin Fish Market, any need will be taken care of. While the peaceful beach by itself would be enough to make Lurelin a great getaway, the village truly makes it almost the perfect peaceful experience.

6. The Spring of Wisdom

Upon the summit of Mount Lanayru, you will find nothing but the peaceful snows and waters of this far away spring. It’s hard to describe exactly why, but the majesty of this ancient shrine that is separated from civilization provides a sense of safety and security. Maybe it is the cold sacred waters, its connection to both the Goddess of Wisdom and Hylia, or the location’s storied history that makes The Spring of Wisdom feel so peaceful.

However, like Selmie’s Spot, the big catch is the journey up the mountain. During the expedition to the Spring of Wisdom, one must be ready to fight monsters most of the way up Mount Lanayru. Despite the difficult journey, the Spring of Wisdom will provide physical, mental, and spiritual peace with its remote location and relaxing sacred waters to its lucky visitors.

5. Zora’s Domain

Home to one of Hyrule’s oldest races, Zora’s Domain creates a relaxing atmosphere between its calming music, beautiful architecture, and many amenities. At Zora’s Domain, one can soak in the small pools on the middle level, shop at the small market, or take in the statue of the late Zora Princess while enjoying the beautiful waterfalls around town. And, of course, no visit to Zora’s Domain is complete without talking to the wholesome Zora Prince, Sidon. Then Zora’s Domain’s local hotel, The Seabed Inn, offers the famous luxurious Water Bed for 80 rupees. A perfect deal for adventures looking for further relaxation.

Zora’s Domain and its beautiful waterfalls, pools, and admirable prince are a must for any Hylian seeking a peaceful vacation.

4. Tarrey Town

Located at the heart of the stunningly gorgeous Akkala region, Tarrey Town provides a sanctuary of hope for any adventurer who wanders into town. For 100 years, life in Hyrule stagnated as the hordes of monsters and Guardians kept everyone trapped in their individual townships. Yet now, after all these years, a new town is built from scratch, proving that the world is not over. In defiance of the Calamity Ganon, Tarrey Town stands as a strong beacon of hope that peace and normalcy can yet return to Hyrule.

This hope for the future is also present in the town’s people who are welcoming and relaxed. Thanks to this, Tarrey Town’s peaceful nature is allowed to flourish. Each citizen of Tarrey Town came to the young village looking for a peaceful new life and was able to find it. With such a hopeful town and people combined with the breathtaking visuals of Akkala, Tarrey Town is truly a sanctuary of peace in a world of chaos.

3. Sanidin Park Ruins

Located north of the Outskirts Stable, Sanidin Park Ruins is a calm oasis with a legendary view of Central Hyrule, making it the perfect spot to rest alongside your horse. The park itself is rather simple, with a small horse statue in the middle, and a round stone overlook. Although, the views offered around the park are certainly not simple. Far from any of the dangers of Hyrule, a traveler can peacefully take in the true natural beauty below. And the backside of the park is no less gorgeous, giving a full view of the Gerudo Highlands.

The timeless views make Sanidin Park Ruins a quiet resting spot that can never be captured in a single Shiekah Slate picture.

2. Kara Kara Bazaar

Within the early reaches of the Gerudo Desert lays an oasis where travelers often stop, the Kara Kara Bazaar. Fitting to its name this bazaar is a market with many different places to shop at, including a fruit stand, a meat stand, and a small inn to spend the night at. While shopping, guests of the bazaar can go for a swim, fall asleep under a palm tree, or play with the local dog. The only worry a hero has at Kara Kara Bazaar is what to spend their money on. A much more pleasant worry than wondering where the next monster is.

While often overlooked because of its next-door neighbor, the bustling Gerudo Town, Kara Kara Bazaar is a peaceful alternative to relax and take life slow for a while.

1. Satori Mountain

Satori Mountain’s lush plant and wildlife along with the absence of enemies make it easily the most peaceful spot within Breath of the Wild. The most notable feature of the lone peak is its guardian spirit, the mysterious Lord of the Mountain, a tribute to the late Nintendo President Satoru Iwata. Since this deity protects the area, animals run freely over the flower-covered hills, and the peak is dawned with a majestic cherry blossom tree that paints the nearby pond with its bright pink leaves. Nothing will ever bother you on this mountain that calls a lonely hero to let their guard down. Nature is as it should be, so there is no reason to worry.

The feeling of peace Satori Mountain provides can only truly be experienced by visiting the mountain and hearing the sounds of nature and music while standing by the cherry blossom tree and pond.
