Takaya Imamura, one of the creators behind Majora’s Mask, F-Zero, and Starfox has recently released his original debut comic. “Omega 6” follows the story of two androids who get back into bounty hunting. After eating some magic fruit, Thunder and Kyla gain invincibility but will age once the effects wear off. Hired to kill Petrogaze, who has a $300 million bounty on his head, they are forced into a life or death situation. The book is based on the video game of the same name also made by Imamura. Originally released in both Japan and France in 2022, the book was published in English on November 25, 2025.
“I sincerely hope my manga and games can be enjoyed by people regardless of where they live,” said Imamura. “It would make me very happy if my work delivers an exciting and thrilling experience.”
After he left Nintendo in 2021, Imamura decided to make something by himself for a change. Omega 6 was inspired by his experiences while living in Kyoto where he noticed the number of tourists increasing while the amount of Japanese people rapidly declining. It represented a significant shift in Imamura’s career. Omega 6 allowed him the freedom to express himself without being constrained to the visions of a large, global company.
