We now have confirmation that the Legend of Zelda movie is scheduled to be released sometime within the next five years. Last Tuesday Nintendo released their second quarter financial report that contains a briefing of future plans for the rest of the fiscal year, which ends in March 2025. This financial report was presented to investors and released to the public. There’s not much to go on in terms of confirmation, but what little is revealed in the report is enough. A graphic in the report’s slideshow communicates the Legend of Zelda logo as a stand-in for the movie with the year “202X” marked underneath it.
Though an enigma it may be, the thought of at least having a tangible finish line is enough to excite many fans. The Legend of Zelda movie does not have an official name. It will be live action and directed by Wes Ball, director of The Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. Wes Ball has not made comments about the timing of the movie at this time.
