Have you ever seen an artistic recreation of something that you liked and just said “Wow, that’s talented!” That’s how it feels to look at the artwork by Avalon Alessi, known Ncxaesthetic on Reddit. Nxcaesthetic has used various moments in Tears of the Kingdom, as well as other Zelda games such as Twilight Princess and Majora’s Mask, and recreated them in the style of the beloved Game Boy Color games Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons.

It definitely takes talent to recreate something like this. The scenes that Alessi has recreated show his keen eye for detail. From the item Link has equipped having been fused, to the actual characters being present in the scene such as Tulin in the Colgera fight the first time you encounter that boss. It’s these little attentions to detail that really shine forth when creating art like this. There are many other great scenes like this that Alessi has reproduced that honestly look like they were from an actual GBC title and then used in Tears of the Kingdom later. It will probably leave some that aren’t familiar with the Zelda franchise wondering which came first.
Alessi has been hard at work producing these amazing views. He has also recreated some very cool memories with other Zelda games too such as Majora’s Mask and Twilight Princess. While his artwork with these games are uncanny, he is not limited to the Zelda franchise either. According to Alessi, Metroid is his second favorite IP next to Zelda and he has also done some work with the Super Mario IP as well.

The art that Nxcaesthetic creates speaks to his love for these games. A Zelda fan at heart, you can see it in these stunning visuals that he creates. Many of these moments seem like they were moments that the artist himself cherished or were nostalgic enough to inspire him to do the work that he has done. Undoubtedly, these will probably not be the last of his works, and it will be exciting to see what he comes up with next. My vote is a battle with a Gleeok. That’d be an eye catcher for sure.
