Ganondorf revealed and mysteries abound in epic Tears of the Kingdom trailer

Sheer bliss and imagination were unleashed in Nintendo’s showcase of Tears of the Kingdom with one last trailer before the game releases on May 12. The trailer begins with our good friend Eiji Aonuma, Producer of the Zelda franchise, surfacing once again to show us a more in-depth look at the game and a new twist on the land of Hyrule. In short, it’s the stuff that Zelda fan dreams are made of. Check out the final trailer below.

There are so many hidden details and references in the beautiful screenshots, the trailer has left us speechless. Well, almost. There’s one thing we can’t stop talking about: Ganondorf is back in full force, and he looks (and sounds) great. After the trailer, Nintendo released official artwork of Ganondorf in his brand-new Tears of the Kingdom design. It’s amazing.

Eiji Aonuma wasn’t joking when he stated that the abilities in Tears of the Kingdom are up to the player’s imagination. Thanks to Link’s new Ultra Hand ability with his glowing arm, players can build almost anything they think of, from a horse buggy to a sci-fi tank and even a rocket ship. We see epic conflicts, intelligent Constructs chopping trees, Hyrule settlements being rebuilt, laser security systems, old friends grown up and reunited, and new characters that seem to play an important role. It’s everything we could ever want from Breath of the Wild, and more. And yes, there are caves. Lots of them.

Even with all this amazing eye candy, there are still so many questions left unanswered. What is the purpose of the Sky Islands? Who are these mysterious Zonai folks? What’s going on in the Gerudo Desert? Can Link reunite with Princess Zelda? More importantly, where in the world is Yunobo?
