Nintendo has announced a new Nintendo Direct that will focus on news for upcoming releases, mostly focused on the first half of 2023. The presentation starts at 2 p.m. PST and last for roughly 40 minutes. It can be viewed on Nintendo’s various social media platforms, as well as nintendo.com.
What can we expect? The most obvious bullet point is going to be something for the upcoming Tears of the Kingdom. With just over three months left until release, we know shockingly little about this next title. It’s by design, certainly. But does that mean this is going to feature a huge blow-out of information, or is one more trailer going to be all we get between now and then?
Aside from that, we can probably look forward to some other upcoming titles, like Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe, Octopath Traveller 2, Pikmin 4, and Bayonetta Origins. There’s also a few projects known and rumored to be in production, like Advanced Wars Reboot Camp, Wind Waker HD, Twilight Princess HD, and a rumored Metroid Prime remaster. I wouldn’t hold my breath for those HD Zelda games, given immediacy of Tears of the Kingdom, but they’re still possible.
On the slightly more speculative side, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 likely has some DLC to share. Fire Emblem Engage is probably also on that boat. It feels like we haven’t had a Wii U port in a while. Perhaps Xenoblade Chronicles X or Yoshi’s Wooly World could pop up. And then, we likely have plenty of time to dedicate to new announcements, indie games, and a sizzling hot third-party reel.
