Tears of the Kingdom demake trailers usher in nostalgic Nintendo 64 memories

It’s always inspiring to discover the creativity that Zelda fans come up with after an announcement for a new Zelda game comes to light. This time around, YouTube content creator Jackarte has already put together a mock Nintendo 64-style Tears of the Kingdom trailer in honor of the latest footage shown during last month’s Nintendo Direct. The demake hits all the right notes of classic Nintendo 64 retro graphics, from the flickered lighting to the flat backgrounds and Link’s wonky polygonal gymnastics.

This demake trailer easily strikes the nostalgic cord for the Nintendo 64 days.

In a world where highly detailed graphics are now a recurring norm in the gaming industry, there’s an interesting trend taking hold of content creators making retro demake versions of cutting-edge titles, and viewers are gobbling up the content by storm. Now that realistic graphics are feasible with more powerful consoles these days, it seems that there is a pining for the golden (and quirkier) days of yesteryear. Here’s another Nintendo 64 demake trailer of Tears of the Kingdom, this time from The Regressor.

Another amazing demake trailer that makes Zelda fans want to party like it’s 1999.

Last but not least, remember that trailer of Breath of the Wild back in E3 2016, before it was launched? Check out Zelda fan Sauraen’s awesome demake replica, Ocarina of Time version. The video may be over six years old, but the feat alone is certainly noteworthy, not to mention super fun.
