Nintendo of America seriously just acknowledged the existence of CD-i Zelda in its series of Twitter surveys

The next episode of the Nintendo Power Podcast is gearing up to be a big celebration of The Legend of Zelda’s 35th anniversary, and as you might expect, Nintendo of America is engaging with the community on the topic for the occasion! Its recent series of Zelda-themed Twitter surveys started with a pretty standard question, asking fans what their favorite Breath of the Wild Champion is.

Next up, Nintendo asked players what system they played their first Zelda game on. But then:

There it is: official acknowledgment of The Wand of Gamelon.

What could this mean? It could be that we are finally canonizing the CD-i series. It could be we’ll finally be getting the long-awaited HD remasters of the CD-i trilogy. I suppose it could just mean an intern at Nintendo is simply having some fun — nah!

At the time of writing, the correct answer “No” is winning the vote with a 60% majority, indicating that most fans simply can not wait to bomb some Dodongos. Two days remain until the poll closes for these questions, though, so get voting quickly!

I’ll admit, I felt that Nintendo’s 35th-anniversary Zelda plans were pretty lacking before. This tweet has now completely restored my faith in the company.
