Fan-made symphonic poem premiering on YouTube to celebrate The Legend of Zelda’s 35th Anniversary

A symphonic poem that celebrates The Legend of Zelda franchise will premiere live on YouTube on June 7. The premiere is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. UTC.

This arrangement was created by Ben Emberley, a composer who specializes in video game music. He was also a co-author for the Skyward Sword “Symphonic Movement” that was featured in “The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses” concert.

June 7 marks exactly 10 years since Nintendo’s 2011 E3 Summit, which was when Nintendo celebrated the series’s 25th anniversary. To celebrate both this anniversary and the series’ 35th anniversary, Ben is hosting a Live YouTube Premiere of “The Creation of Hyrule,” an arrangement he created in 2016. It is an hour-long symphonic poem that features 30 different songs from eight Zelda soundtracks. To accompany the music, Ben has also created a video to help illustrate the story.

More information about the symphonic poem and its development can be found on its Facebook event page. “The Symphony of the Goddesses” had been a major influence on Ben’s life and was what inspired him to pursue his passion for creating orchestral arrangements of video game music. Ben developed “The Creation of Hyrule” to demonstrate his skills and passion for both the craft and the Zelda series, and it ultimately helped him earn the opportunity to create music for “The Symphony of the Goddesses.”
