Symphony of the Goddesses was an amazing concert tour that traveled all over the world to perform a variety of cherished Zelda music for fans. Sadly, the last performance took place over three years ago, with no current tours planned for the future. Many fans have expressed their disappointment of the symphony’s end over the years, especially those who never had a chance to attend one of their performances. Before the symphony’s tours ended, there was supposed to be a special performance in Las Vegas that would produce a DVD/CD combo, similar to what is produced from Japan-only concerts. However, Nintendo decided not to renew the symphony and the performance never happened, thus the CDs were never created.
Despite this, Jon Pendragon has since dedicated his time providing fans with a special piece of the symphony using music and video footage he has gathered over the years. Pendragon was a member of the heavenly choir in the Symphony of the Goddesses and is a huge Zelda fan who has spent countless hours recreating what was lost when the symphony ended.
With the help of his choirmaster, Pendragon gathered some of the original singers that performed in Symphony of the Goddesses to create a remaster of the 2017 Symphony of the Goddesses’ Overture, originally performed in San Jose, California by the Areté Singers & Skywalker Symphony for The Legend of Zelda’s 35th anniversary.
With Nintendo’s knowledge, he also plans on eventually providing everything in MP3 format for fans to download for free. However, Pendragon hopes that, one day, Symphony of the Goddesses will be rebooted under someone who truly loves the franchise and that more fans will be able to experience the wonder and awe that comes from such a unique and magical performance.
