Giveaway: Win this 3D-printed, Hannya-style Majora’s Mask

Zelda Universe is partnering with Spanish 3D artist The3DHut to give one lucky fan a unique and stylish Hannya-style Majora’s Mask, printed from an original design by concept artist and illustrator David R. Sainz.

To enter, simply follow both The3DHut and Zelda Universe on Twitter and retweet our Twitter post below. The contest is international and runs today, April 16, through next Friday, April 23. Zelda Universe will announce and contact the winner on April 24.

Not only is the model custom printed and painted, but The3DHut emphasized the mask’s frightening look by mounting it and adding lights and a smoke effect. According to The3DHut, the letters on the board are Hylian and translate to “You’ve met with a terrible fate, haven’t you?”

Historically, Hannya masks were used in various Japanese plays and dances. They represent the souls of women who have been possessed by jealousy, turning them into demons. The mask’s devilish appearance is said to represent rage and pain, but also torment and heartbreak, arguably not unlike Skull Kid’s inner conflict represented in Majora’s Mask.

Want to print your own Hannya Majora’s Mask? The digital 3D model can be purchased on Cults 3D.
