The Nintendo 3DS just became more valuable, as Nintendo announced that they will be discontinuing the repairing of the 3DS and 3DS XL systems as of March 31, 2021, “due to lack of parts.” In their statement, Nintendo Japan explains that “Due to the difficulty in securing the necessary parts for repair, we will no longer be able to accept repair requests for the Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo 3DS XL.”

For those who have been holding off on sending their system in for repairs, Nintendo also announced that they might not be able to complete repairs of systems before that deadline due to necessary parts being out of stock. This news is not all terrible; Nintendo will continue to repair New 3DS, New 3DS XL, and 2DS models for now.
