New Hyrule Warriors game’s Japanese title is ‘Zelda Musou: Apocalypse of Disaster’

The newly announced Breath of the Wild prequel developed by Koei Tecmo, their second Zelda-themed entry in the popular Musou series, will be titled “Zelda Musou: Apocalypse of Disaster” in Japan (「ゼルダ無双 厄災の黙示録」, “Zelda Musou Yakusai no mokushiroku”).

The title references the Japanese name of Calamity Ganon (‘Yakusai Ganon‘, or ‘Disaster Ganon‘), as its takeover of Hyrule 100 years prior to the events of Breath of the Wild is the primary focus of the game.

In Japan, a special “Treasure Box” edition of the game will be available that includes a number of exclusive trinkets, with pre-orders beginning this Friday, September 11th. Age of Calamity is also available for pre-order currently in the US and the UK at such retailers like Best Buy, and the Nintendo UK Store.
