Having freed the Lanayru Providence from the shackles of the invading Twilight, Link now has the chance to explore the restored region at his leisure. It’s the largest region of Hyrule, so there are many sights to see, but Link’s looking for a spot that will fulfill an unignorable deed to unwind. To that end, he remembers reading a sign at the northmost portion of the providence that said “Fishing Hole.” Link cannot remember the last time he was able to sit down, cast his line, and enjoy a day by a body of fresh and clear water. It was time to change that.

Returning to the sign he read, Link grabs the handle on the door that leads to the fishing hole and swings the door open. He passes through the entryway with an eagerness akin to one of the Ordonian children visiting Hyrule Castle Town for the first time. Link’s been looking forward to this, and as the fishing hole comes into view, it’s clear that the anticipation will be rewarded.
A picturesque oasis in the desert of hardships that is Hyrule, the fishing hole is done a disservice by calling it a mere “hole.” The lush vegetation surrounding the pond, especially the trees dressed in blossoming flowers, give the first signal of this place being a haven for life and tranquility. Paired with the flora come the fauna, such as the ducks that busily swim and shuffle along the banks of the pond. Link hasn’t felt this at home since he left the confines of his beloved Ordon Village.

Of course, at the heart of the paradise is the aforementioned pond, which would be any fishing enthusiast’s dream. The waters are pure and crystal clear, the air above and around it made cool and refreshing by its waters. The water is also moving, just enough, thanks to the waterfalls Link can see falling off the cliffside by the pond’s far end. These falls are what make the pond a perfect and prime living space for the fish, which Link can vividly see as they patrol beneath the surface. Link’s excitement continues to grow.

It grows too great, in fact. He spots a cabin adjacent to the doorway, so he knows there’s someone inside to meet, but he can’t resist taking a moment to stand by the edge of the waters to get in some fast fishing. Being a natural at, well, everything, Link lands a few fish immediately. It’s fantastic, the fish living in this pond almost seem to want to be caught. Getting into it more, Link moves along the pond to try various spots. He doesn’t know if he was supposed to pay someone before fishing, but if someone has an issue with it, he’ll just pay them then.

Besides, the eagerness pays off, because one lucky cast of the line into the waters near a small bridge lands Link an ever-useful Empty Bottle. It’s both a prize for Link and great opportunity to remove litter from the pond. Win-win.
Having fished along the entirety of the pond, at least what parts of it can be reached on foot, Link returns for the cabin. The biggest question he has is about the large rock formation standing in the middle of the pond. It looks like a prime fishing spot, and the dock built on the pond is clear evidence that boat fishing is an option. Link knows that renting a boat might involve paying a decent cost, but he doesn’t care. There’s no way he can ignore the chance to fish on every square inch of his new unofficial home away from home.
