Before I get into today’s article, the news being discussed made me reminisce about something. When Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS was at the height of its marketing, one trailer has stuck with me after all these years.
I’m sure I’m not alone, either. Of course, I’m talking about Villager’s announcement trailer. It’s a normal day for our young Animal Crossing protagonist until he opens his mailbox to discover a letter. He just got invited to Smash!
That directly leads us to today’s topic: Nintendo Japan has been offering real-life Smash Bros. invitations as a My Nintendo reward. It includes the iconic envelope with the red seal featuring the Smash logo, with the contents including some lined paper (which also features the logo).
This gift set is available for 400 Platinum Points, with the prize being available starting from tomorrow, Wednesday, July 15. There is no confirmation of whether or not this will head over to Western audiences. Obviously, we would also love to get our hands on these. Imagine sending your friend a fake Smash invitation — it would probably lead to some comedic results!
