This Majora’s Mask anime-style opening is stunning

Outcast Animation has produced an anime-style opening for The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask. The opening showcases a variety of iconic moments from the game, including Link’s descent into Termina and a glimpse of the many iconic characters. This was created to celebrate the game’s recent 20th anniversary.

Music is always a key element of any anime opening and this one uses a familiar tune from the anime Tokyo Ghoul. This is a cover of the famous anime’s opening “Unravel,” produced by Ling Tosite Sigure. Majora’s Mask fits the chosen song, the weird and often dark nature of the game coinciding well with the heavy tunes seen in “Unravel.”

Personally, I think Majora’s Mask would be make for an amazing anime series. The high stakes of the moon crashing to Termina and the colorful cast of characters could potentially transition well into an episodic series. Seeing memorable moments from the game choked this Zelda fan up, and it now has me craving for a full-fledged Zelda anime.
