“All Dog Treasures” speedrun category disregards Ganon, focuses on Good Boys

If you are like me, you dislike cats. But more to the point, you also like dogs, which makes finding out about the “All Dog Treasures” speedrun category of Breath of the Wild a breath of fresh air (sorry, not sorry).

Focusing purely on befriending every dog in the game and getting them to reveal to the player their buried treasure, this unique speedrun doesn’t end when the game is finished. Rather, the run ends once the final chest revealed by a dog is opened. There are still a few regular things seen in the run, such as insane wall skipping and movement techniques, going through the plateau beginning section, and collecting the necessary weapons and resources. But make no mistake—runners of this speedrun category have only the happiness of all the Good Boys in Hyrule in mind.

Picking up traction a few months ago, the runs are every bit as impressive as one might expect from a modern Zelda run, as this run from Vivoxe goes to show. Despite the RNG factor of getting the dogs to actually eat what is offered them, and having to actually construct most of Tarrey Town to even find all of the dogs, runners continue to run “Dog%,” as it has come to be called, with some even organizing community races for the category.

Do you see yourself running Dog% any time soon? Or are you content to just hang out with any dog you come across in this Zelda game that keeps on giving? Let us know what you think!
