Medli’s Melodies: A calming cover of The Legend of Zelda TV series’ underwater theme

Yesterday, we featured a song from YouTube user Martin Anderson, which was an excellent cover of one of the most nostalgic songs from The Legend of Zelda TV series.

That song was uploaded seven years ago, but Anderson is still keeping the love for the cartoon going with a much more recent cover from 2019.

This time, the song is much more obscure as it is only played in one episode, “Fairies in the Spring.” This episode sees Link and Zelda venture deep underwater — equipped with magic helmets — to investigate the strange monsters that have been appearing at the new water park, and to rescue King Harkinian.

During this sequence, an ominous yet calming song plays. As with the previous track, Anderson played by ear to recreate this song, which is extremely impressive as it captures the tone perfectly.

The official soundtrack for the Zelda cartoon is sadly still unavailable, but Anderson’s covers are perfect substitutes. Let’s hope he does more!
