On Tuesday, Nintendo producer and director Eiji Aonuma played Link’s Awakening on Nintendo Treehouse: Live. He was demonstrating playing through one of the new Chamber Dungeons, and we learned a lot during the segment.
Early during his play time, Aonuma briefly opens the inventory screen to adjust his equipment. Most of what we see can be seen by everyone playing the demo this week, but TourianTourist, a longtime Zelda community blogger, noticed one item that isn’t present in the demo: a bowl of cream.
So far, the Chamber Dungeon is the only major new addition to the game that we know about, but this new item points toward there being more. Could it be part of a new trading sequence? It’s listed with the other quest items, so could it affect gameplay permanently like the Pegasus Boots or Power Bracelet?
Our team at E3 2019 has played the demo multiple times and has not been able to find this item, so we may have to wait until September to find out!
