I always wanted a Game Boy Camera. It was an accessory compatible with all Game Boy systems (excluding the Micro) which allowed users to snap and store digital photos, and to customize them with Nintendo-themed stamps. The ads and the magazines made it look so fun, and as a child constantly glued to my Game Boy wherever I went, I longed for a Game Boy Camera — as well as the Game Boy Printer, which allowed you to print your creations.
What I didn’t know about until recently was the limited-run “Zelda Edition” Game Boy Camera. If I did, I would have wanted one of those even more.
This special edition of the Game Boy Camera was only available through a mail-order offer from Nintendo Power magazine. The cartridge was gold in color and only 2,000 of them were made.

Not only was the Zelda Edition pretty, but it also came with exclusive content.
Here are three, Ocarina of Time-themed pictured that came pre-loaded with the camera, courtesy of The Cutting Room Floor.

There were also exclusive Ocarina of Time stamps on this edition, replacing the Pokemon and Mario stamps found on the regular Game Boy Camera.

How about seeing this Zelda Edition in action? YouTube user nensondubois has some great footage demonstrating the exclusive Zelda content.
As a kid obsessed with drawing and making art, I could see myself spending hours plastering Navi icons and Triforce symbols all over my photos back in the day.
Thank you for joining us throughout Game Boy Week! I thought it was only appropriate for us to end our 30th-anniversary celebration of the system by tying it back to The Legend of Zelda.
