A sealed copy of The Legend of Zelda, the debut title in the massively popular series released on the Nintendo Entertainment System, is undoubtedly a sought after piece for fans of the series and retro collectors alike. As time goes on, the value of a pristine copy of the game only climbs higher, as evidenced by a recent auction in Dallas, Texas which saw one copy sell for $3,360.
According to Heritage Auctions, this particular copy was a new-in-box gray, three screw version of the cartridge which was released much later the NES’ lifespan as part of the Classic Series. Other sealed classic games like Excitebike, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Mega Man 5, and more were sold through the auction as well.
