Some of you may remember that HORI had announced that it was releasing a left Joy-Con controller with a traditional D-pad some months ago. The controller, which can only be used in handheld mode due to it not having wireless functionality, has finally been released in Japan. But, there is an unfortunate problem with this latest peripheral: this controller is power hungry!

This left Joy-Con is eating up people’s precious battery life, even while the console is in sleep mode. It’s quite unfortunate for a controller that only works when connected to the console itself. HORI has acknowledged the issue on their official website, where they recommend disconnecting the controller from the Switch when you put the console to sleep until they can issue a fix.
