Hot off the heels of the recent integration of Nintendo Labo in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, it would seem that more updates are going to be announced for the title soon. Head of software development at Nintendo, Shinya Takahashi, recently answered a few questions about some of his favorite Nintendo Switch titles which you can view below.

“Hello, everyone. I am Shinya Takahashi from Nintendo.
Now you are able to play Mario Kart 8 Deluxe using the Nintendo Labo Toy-Con Motorbike. So whether you’ve been using bikes in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe or not, please try playing with the Nintendo Labo Toy-Con Motorbike.
There will be further updates for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, so please look forward to it.”
Mario Kart 8 originally released on the Wii U in 2014 with two DLC packs and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was released in 2017 that included all of the previous DLC and added new characters, modes, and tweaks to the overall game. This game has been supported for the past four years and seems it will continue into the future.
It is unclear whether these “further updates” will only include updates for Nintendo Labo or perhaps that Nintendo plans to release additional content in the future. I would love to see another batch of characters and tracks, who wouldn’t want to play as Zelda and whip around Zora’s Domain on the Master Cycle Zero?
