The first Nintendo Direct of 2022 just finished airing, and wow it was absolutely amazing. Although the biggest Zelda news was The Legend of Zelda theme appearing in Taiko no Tatsujin, the Direct certainly had something special for every player. Every moment bounced between a shocking new game announcement, to an exciting follow-up on a previously announced title. It started with a new Fire Emblem Warriors game but wasted no time in showing off Mario Strikers, Earthbound on Switch Online, DLC for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Nintendo Switch Sports, and then finally Xenoblade Chronicles 3. That list feels long, but it is just a fraction of the announcements shown off in the fast-paced direct. It is hard to tell what to be most excited about, though racing as Link on Coconut Mall is certainly up there.
