New Nintendo trademark further hints at an upcoming Nintendo 64 Classic

Nintendo have recently applied for a trademark in Japan for “N64”. According to Japanese Nintendo, the application includes “video game program, controller for game machine, joystick for video game machine, TV game machine and more.” Albeit in Japanese, the full application can be seen here.

While a trademark for N64 could mean a plethora of things, a trademark filed this close to E3 suggests that Nintendo could be working on announcing something in the coming weeks. Pair that with the previous trademarks filed back in July 2017 and this strongly hints at an upcoming announcement at E3. The Nintendo 64 Classic Edition being announced at E3 2018 would be the perfect way to follow the highly successful NES and SNES Classics.

All that is left to do now is to speculate on the games, which clearly needs to include both Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask. With so many classic titles that appeared on the Nintendo 64, it’ll be hard to narrow it down. Let us know below what games need to be in the collection!
