While it was only just revealed during the recent Nintendo Direct Mini, new information regarding the contents of Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition have already surfaced. During the presentation, it was said that the new release, coming to Nintendo Switch, would combine elements of both previous iterations, but we now have confirmation of some interesting new and returning features.

According to a report from GoNintendo, the upcoming definitive edition will feature all downloadable content for both the Wii U and 3DS versions of the game, including all 29 playable characters, and will retain the individualized fighting styles for each. This version will also add a fully-3D ‘My Fairy’ mode, much like the 2D equivalent available in Hyrule Warriors: Legends previously. Players will be able to take advantage of mid-battle character switching, a feature which was introduced in Hyrule Warriors: Legends, and made an appearance in last year’s Fire Emblem Warriors.

Challenge Mode, which allowed players to assume the role of Beast Ganon and wreak havoc on the battlefield, will also make its return in Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition when the game launches on Nintendo Switch this spring!

A newly released trailer from Koei Tecmo’s Japanese YouTube channel has been uploaded, showing off many of these new features. Be sure to give it a watch below to see the game in action, including the new Breath of the Wild costumes for Link and Zelda!
