Since 2012, many fans may have believed that Nintendo Power was dead and gone. While that may be true in some sense, Nintendo has recently launched a nostalgically titled official “Nintendo Power Podcast”. Hoping to bring back some of the insider magic that the magazine brought to so many of its subscribers, the new podcast promises to deliver exciting Nintendo information directly to the fans!

The inaugural episode of the Nintendo Power Podcast features former Nintendo Power editor-in-chief, Chris Slate, as well as Nintendo Minute’s Kit Ellis, and Head of Partner Management at Nintendo of America, Damon Baker, looking back at Nintendo’s phenomenal year in 2017.  From E3 memories to discussing the third-party lineup of games for Nintendo Switch, the hosts energetically recount their favorite moments from the year and deliver a fantastic opening to this outstanding podcast.

Perhaps most significantly, this episode also features an interview segment with Breath of the Wild director Hidemaro Fujibayashi and series producer Eiji Aonuma. The discussion includes the developer’s feelings regarding Breath of the Wild‘s reception, as well as the goals, and inspirations for climbing and gliding mechanics and much, much more.

The full podcast comes in at just over an hour and is chocked full of incredible new information. Be sure to check out the podcast on SoundCloud and iTunes to find out more!
