DLC Pack 2 of the Expansion Pass for Breath of the Wild has finally released on Nintendo Wii U & Switch systems. In addition to the brand new story segment, you’re able to acquire new armor, as well as new new gear! Eleven items in total have been added, including iconic gear throughout the history of The Legend of Zelda.

The latest gear & armor include:

Ravio’s Hood from The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds

The Blue Crawfish Shirt from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker

Zant’s Helmet from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

Phantom Ganon Armor (3 piece set) from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

Royal Guard Armor (3 piece set)

Ancient Bridle & Ancient Saddle

Just like the previous DLC Pack, the new armor and gear can be found via journal entries. Misko, the famous thief, is at it again and has placed six of the new items in chests all across Hyrule. In order to obtain the new armor, you must track down the black treasure chests labeled “EX”. We’ve listed below where you can find each piece of armor and gear in the new DLC Pack.

To start off, you must venture towards the Deya Village Ruins (east of the Great Plateau & Scout’s Hill). At this location, find and read the book that contains rumors about these new items. This will be your primary lead to hunting them down! The journal can be found on a small piece of land in Deya Lake, east of the main terrain visible in Deya Village Ruins. Below are the journal entries of the chest locations Misko hints towards.

EX Treasure: Merchant Hood

Misko’s EX Journal 2: “The traveling merchant’s hood is in the right hand of the dragon that consumes the Spring of Courage at Dracozu Lake.”

Ravio’s Hood: Warp to the shrine in the Spring of Courage. The EX chest can be found just under the stone dragon’s right hand; buried underneath it. Use Magnesis to dig it out.

EX Treasure: Garb of Winds

Misko’s EX Journal 2: “The blue garb of the hero who controlled the wind and traveled the ocean is where the Menoat River was born.”

Island Lobster Shirt: Travel to the Lake Tower, Menoat River is just south. Glide down from the tower, and the EX chest can be found underwater, west of Cora Lake, where the water is flowing out from.  Use Cryonis to reach the chest, followed with Magnesis to collect the Island Lobster Shirt.

EX Treasure: Usurper King

Misko’s EX Journal 2: “The helm of the self-proclaimed King of Shadows is in the swamp of the valley of dead trees, south of Dueling Peaks.”

Zant’s Helmet: Warp to one of the shrines at Dueling Peaks and travel south to Tobio’s Hollow. There will be a swamp with dead trees, along with a buried EX chest containing Zant’s Helmet. Use Magnesis to dig out the chest and collect the helmet of the Usurper King.

EX Treasure: Dark Armor

Misko’s EX Journal 2: “The evil spirit’s armor set is hidden within Faron’s sea of trees. Find these pieces at the highest of three waterfalls north of Lake Floria… at the bridge between small waterfalls over Floria River… and at the broken stone bird of Ebara Forest.”

Phantom Ganon Skull – This one can throw you off a bit. To find this chest, start north from Lake Floria, and the waterfall that branches out leftward. There will be three tall waterfalls as you climb up. Remember to use Zora Armor to swim up the waterfalls. You’ll find the chest underwater, at the base of Corta Lake’s highest waterfall. Use Magnesis to collect the EX chest and obtain Phantom Ganon Skull.

Phantom Ganon Armor – Travel to Sarjon Bridge. You can get there from Faron Tower and glide west. You’ll find the bridge between the two waterfalls, with a EX chest underwater, below the bridge. Use Magnesis to obtain Phantom Ganon Armor.

Phantom Ganon Greaves – To get to Ebara Forest, warp to Qukah Nata Shrine and travel southwest of the waterfall. The EX chest is buried just next to the broken stone bird statue, nearest to Floria Bridge. Use Magnesis to get Phantom Ganon Greaves.

EX Royal Guard Rumors

Obtaining the Royal Guard gear is done differently. Make your way to the Riverside Stable and ready the book that tells rumors of this new equipment. You can find the Riverside Stable just northeast to the Great Plateau. Your lead points to Hyrule Castle, where a Royal Guard uniform can still be found. This uniform can be found in three treasure chests: near the Dining Hall, in the Guards’ Chamber and on the second floor. Off to the Castle once more!

Royal Guard Cap – This hint is a tad vague. Make your way up to Hyrule Castle, just before entering the Sanctum (where the boss battle with Calamity Ganon starts). Instead of going into the Sanctum, make your way upward and enter the room on the second floor. You’ll find malice covering the majority of the room (showing that you’re above Calamity Ganon’s seal). The chest is at the very far end of the room in an EX chest next to a soldier statue. Collect the item inside, in which you will find the Royal Guard Cap.

Royal Guard Uniform – Found inside a small corridor, at the very end of the hallway that connects to the dining hall. You can also find a Royal Guard Sword stuck in a pedestal. The uniform will be inside a EX chest.

Royal Guard Boots – Make your way inside the castle and into the Guards’ Chamber. There’s an tunnel entrance outside the castle area where you’ll have to use Cryonis. Follow the map to find a large room to the left of where you enter the interior. Once you reach the chamber, the EX chest will be in plain sight, atop a wooden shelf. Its near near a fire, explosive barrels and two silver Lizalfos. You may end up in a fight, so come prepared. Take the Royal Guard Boots from the chest and you’ll complete the quest.

EX Ancient Horse Rumors

There are two new horse gears available from the new DLC pack. This includes the Ancient Saddle and Ancient Birdle, and they come with useful features. To get these items, you’ll first need to make your way to the Highland Stable. This location is just south of Faron Woods. There is a book containing rumors about these items.

The Ancient Saddle allows you to call a horse companion no matter the distance between you two. The saddle is at a mysterious spring where a horse spirit resides. This one is rather close by. Make your way southeast towards the Malayna Spring, this is where the horse spirit resides. Go behind the giant flower and you’ll find a chest buried underground near the wall. Use Magnesis to dig out the EX chest and obtain the Ancient Saddle.  Now you no longer have to revisit a stable to reclaim your horse. Awesome!

The Ancient Bridle increases the number of times you can spur your horse on. The book entry says the bridle can be found south of Hyrule Ridge, beneath a cherry blossom tree at a mountain where creatures gather. Sound familiar? You can find this treasure chest underneath the cherry blossom tree at Satori Mountain. It’ll be buried in the ground so use Magnesis to dig it out to complete the quest.

Now that you have found all the new armor and equipment, now is a great time to take on the new story section of the game! Make your way to the Shrine of Resurrection once you have freed all four Divine Beasts in the Main Quest. Once you complete the new DLC Quest, you’ll be rewarded with the Master Cycle Zero!

We hope that you will enjoy the latest new downloadable content for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. There’s a lot of new content to behold, and we’re actively going to report on the latest news from this update. In case you missed it, we also covered the locations of the armor and gear from DLC Pack 1 that released earlier this Summer. Happy treasure hunting!

  • Can you guys please mention gold and not silver enemies whenever possible for those of us looking for the items in Master Mode? I was lookin for the boots, and since the article describes a room with two SILVER lizalfsoes I went looking for silver missed the chest, until I myself had to put two and two together and figure out that for ME it would have been Golden not Silver enemies >.>

Really makes this a guide for NORMAL mode and not both modes, since you are really stating enemy variations based off of that.
