While it isn’t a topic of discussion that comes up too often, Germany has something called the BIU Sales Award that’s given to games that sell exceptionally well. However, it certainly warrants disscussion now because Breath of the Wild managed to snag a Gold BIU Award for selling over one hundred thousand copies at retail.
Note that this number applies to copies sold for the Switch, with no mention given on how many units were sold for the Wii U. It’s not incredibly surprising that Breath of the Wild received such an award. I’m sure many people bought a Switch just to have the definitive version of the game. I am curious to see the sales figures for the Wii U version, though.
Did you buy Breath of the Wild for the Wii U instead of the Switch? Or perhaps you bought both versions? Let us know which one you went for!
