The Legend of Zelda is a finalist for The Strong’s World Video Game Hall of Fame

Fifteen games are in the running for induction into The Strong’s World Video Game Hall of Fame for 2015. The list of finalists spans classic games like Pong and Pac-Man, all the way up to more contemporary titles such as Angry Birds and Minecraft. Most importantly, however, is the inclusion of The Legend of Zelda. Releasing in 1986, that golden cartridge had a huge impact on the gaming world with its exploration-style gameplay.

A committee comprised of journalists, scholars and gaming experts from around the world will select the final inductees for the 2015 Hall of Fame. The titles making the cut will be announced during a ceremony held at The Strong museum on June 4.
