For the first time in four years, Nintendo will not be hosting a booth at the annual New York Comic Con in Manhattan, according to Nintendo World Report. Not much of an explanation is given as to why, however it was confirmed by an official representative about a week before the events were set to begin. Nintendo has seen great recent success with the release of Hyrule Warriors on the Wii U and Super Smash Bros. for 3DS, and have many other intriguing titles in the pipeline.
At the E3 conference over the summer, Nintendo had a huge presence, debuting an exciting trailer for a flagship Wii U Legend of Zelda title as well as allowing attendees to get their hands on Splatoon, Yoshi’s Wooly World and Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker.
With such a vast array of games, it is unknown why Nintendo will not be showcasing at the east coast convention. As an avid attendee of NYCC, I always look forward to seeing what they bring to the table, and I’m sure their absence will be noticed.
