It’s a busy time of year. School is ending which means finals, end of year projects, and graduation plans for a lot of people. Others are getting everything squared away for summer vacation. Regardless of what you’re up to, it’s always good to take a moment and relax. This week we’ve picked a couple of songs that we hope will make the stress melt away.

Amanda’s pick

Normally when I think of relaxing video game songs, I usually pick something from a water level. But water levels tend to be pretty frustrating. Spending time outside in the sunshine, maybe doing some shopping, or having a picnic with your friends and family sounds way more chill than navigating the Water Temple or dodging Octoroks. So this week, I’ve picked a vocal remix of Kakariko Village by supershigi. Every time I listen to this version, I can feel all of my stress disappear.

“Ballad of the Goddess” is one of the most beautiful pieces to ever grace the Zelda series. When I think of pieces of music that are relaxing, I think of a gentle piano melody that allows me to lose myself in thought. This cover of “Ballad of the Goddess/Zelda’s Lullaby” by Sam Yung is a gorgeous piano arrangement of “Ballad of the Goddess” intertwined with “Zelda’s Lullaby”, and allows me to close my eyes and put all my worries to bed. And isn’t that the point in relaxing?
