Artist Shag, an 18 year-old university student who “likes to make beats,” released an album of Zelda remixes back in August.  He took ten familar songs from Ocarina of Time (plus a bonus track featuring sound effects) and gave them a hip-hop flair by adding beats, using sound distortion, and slowing down the tempos.  He asks listeners to view his project ‘not as “hip-hop remixes” of classic Zelda songs, but as a re-imagining of a classic video game soundtrack.’  There’s no better way to understand what he means than to go over to his website and listen to the eleven tracks for yourself.  They can be purchased for $1 USD, and listened to for free.  Enjoy!
