Nintendo has revealed a list of ten NES games that will be available for free as part of the Nintendo 3DS Ambassador program. Zelda fans are in luck, because among the titles are both of the Zelda games that were released for the NES: The Legend of Zelda and Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. Both of these games will be available in the US, Japan and Europe.

This gives Zelda fans who haven’t already played these classics a chance to take a look at Zelda’s roots while awaiting Skyward Sword. The year of Zelda’s 25th anniversary is proving to be an amazing one for Zelda fans, as these two games are only the latest in a list of Zelda-related goodies being offered by Nintendo this year.

For the full list of games, follow the jump.

I guess the list is alright but not all of them interest me much. Well I guess I can get some of them and try them out for the heck of it. Definitely the Zelda games. Looking forward to seeing the full list of GBA games. 🙂

  • They're both free? On what platform? Wow, I want a lot of those games. 😀

I got the Ambassador games! :D!!!!!!!!!!!! On your 3DS (this is for the USA only I don't know if this applies to the rest) you go into the eShop, and on the touch screen touch the MENU tab at the upper left, go in settings/others then touch then touch "your downloads" and scroll down alittle and there they are! 😀

          eh, maybe wrong pun use.
Anyway, I was kinda sad that it didn't use 2 player wireless, but mostly no microphone use like the famicon did so us americans can finally get to scream at the pols voice.

Tune in to your local news station to hear,

"Nintendo just released two of its biggest classics-Zelda I and II-for the Nintendo 3Ds. Sales have skyrocketed". 😛

    • Nnnnnope

Nope.api. Ambassadors only, meaning those who bought the game before the price cut. 😛

      • A_LINK_IN_TIME

Yes, but can't a guy make a joke around here once in a while for drama.

        Ambassadors unite!

For those who are playing The Legend of Zelda on the 3DS, please note that this is not the GBA version, to save the game WITHOUT dying on the 3DS, first press START, then while on the item screen PRESS the L+R+Y to change to controller number 2, once you've put it on controller 2 press UP and the A button at the same time, while on that small screen, switch back to controller 1 by using the L+R+Y buttons and hit SELECT to pick SAVE then press START to let it happen.

  • Now available in Australia and Europe! SO HAPPY!

  • Alan

Can I download these on my Game Boy Color? Or do I have to buy an Advance to get them?
