Good afternoon, Zelda fans! Here’s a nice tune for you to see out the afternoon with.

YouTube users jam2995 and TheDelRe have collaborated to put together this guitar cover of the Hyrule Field theme from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. It sounds fantastic, and they even bought Legend of Zelda t-shirts to wear for the occasion! Give it a listen, and don’t forget to leave a comment with your thoughts.

  • vick

i heard better from people who play real music like led zeppelin or pink floyd

    • breakingglass27

      So I'm guessing you're 13 then?

      • Soulless Creature

This is Hyrule field from TP on guitar; I like it. I guess people have there own opinions but Vick please don't try to down grade it with other artists that are also good.

    • vickhasasmalldick

      and a puddingdick?

    • Mr7K

      You're such an idiot XD

  • Hey, Pani, it's actually just me (Jam2995) and TheDelRe. We did everything, drums included (which we programmed). Thanks a TON for posting this! ^_^

    • EDracon

Would have been better if it didnt go random metal, I think that ruined it.

      • EDracon

or rock, but the way the drums went it leans more towards metal.. Just because you're playing Guitar doesn't mean you have to do that.

        • EDraconisafatpiece

your a needledick kid. a truer blue needledick

          • i like chese…

          • gerald4

Wow, so does this site have anyone that polices the comments for angsty 14 year olds?

Seriously, you may not agree with EDracon, but he made his opinion known without being hostile or a douche. Grow the hell up. You can't add "fatloser" to the names of people you disagree with in real life.

    • Pani

      No problem! It's awesome ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Luca

i love your t-shirts!!! (and i'm italian mamma mia!)

  • Drizzt Do'Urden

thumbs up! but the improvising is a little dissapointing… and less headbanging.

    • Mr7K

I hope the this comment was sarcasm…in a song like this, a cover of a zelda song, you wouldn't really want to improvise much more than he did. And less headbanging? What's wrong with headbanging?

      • gerald4

Oh my GOD, why the hell is everyone so manic and polarized in the comments? Can't a user give someone a qualified compliment? Do you have to analyze everything someone says to the point of tedium?

        • gerald4isahomo

          • Drizzt Do'Urden

            love the username.

        • Drizzt Do'Urden

that is what comments are for, so people can read critisisms and make their preformance better.

          • gerald4

Dude, I was defending you. My comment was in response to that guy beneath you who went off on you.

also, lol at the kid experimenting with naughty words in the username field.

  • starwebs1

I personally think that this is the best one yet.

  • EDracon

I don't understand why I got voted down for thinking it was good up to the point that it went metal…

    • Johaun348

I agree with you there. At first it was a mess when it went metal then it got good and enjoyable. Amazing what strings can do…

    • I voted you back up one.

      Seriously, people, don't be immature.

I personally didn't mind the metal, but honestly it's EDracon's opinion. They're perfectly allowed to have their own opinion.

I suspect I'll probably get voted down for this, but ah well.

  • Alexander

  • This is amazing! This is one of my favorite Twilight Princess songs! It's sounds really cool!

  • Ganon

Well, this gave me an erection.

  • Margar

Great job, guys!!! I felt a little disappointed when it suddenly turned to "generic" metal, too. I mean, you gotta admit, there are TONS of Zelda covers in the metal style with programmed drums, that's nothing new. But this particular song was very nicely arranged and enjoyable to listen to. I never wanted to turn it off, unlike all the other "generic metal zelda covers" I've heard. Its also probably because you don't hear a lot of TP music remakes. it's usually OoT or the occasional WW theme… So yeah, this is great. kudos!

    • What kind of suggestions do you have to make it not so generic? Just wondering. ๐Ÿ™‚

      • margar

eh that's a tough one. I think that shredding guitar music over a drum machine base in general is just so popular right now that on the surface it's easy to hear it and just think "wheee, a high school kid doing generic metal cover of video game music". I mean, like I said, I enjoyed this song very much, and never felt the urge to turn it off, but when it went from the intro to the main body I did think, "Oh great, another metal cover…" However, what sets this song apart and kept me listening was its pure skill and interesting arrangement. Too many of these metal covers I hear are just so simple and basic that to a musician's ear (and I've played guitar and sang since I was 5) just sounds like a cheater with a nice computer and a nice effects petal, harmonizer effects, and a cheap drum machine or drum program. The untrained ear may eat it up, but it's not fooling a true musician.
Again, I'm not knocking this song at all. based purely on the interesting arrangement and attention to detail I can say this takes the cake. The transitions from acoustic to electric, and devotion to the spirit of the game and context of night/day is brilliant enough to set this cover apart from the multitude!

        • Thanks dude! I'm really glad you like it. Yeah, when it comes to covers, my main goal is to keep it interesting, and maintain great sound quality. So many covers on youtube are just playing straight into a webcam, and, well, they suck. We, Andrew and I and other covers artists (CSGuitar89, FamilyJules7X, ArtificialFear, Ferdk16 etc. ) pride ourselves with good quality music, and I believe that's what sets us apart from the rest. It's a whole production, and fun as hell, too. ๐Ÿ™‚

          • Margar

            (dudette FTR but it's cool…)
Well keep them coming because what you and your friends are doing is truly top-notch. I've watched this 3 times now, lol!

  • Craig

I can imagine a Zelda cartoon based on Toon Link's adventures, with this music. It just randomly what I thought of when I heard it, and imagined it ending with this as the credit sequence lol I have film-making mind but this is amazing. I like how the beginning and end contrasted, like night and day.

  • kirby_freak

I was just wondering, jam2995 and TheDelRe, what program did you use to program the drums? And more importantly, is it free? ๐Ÿ˜› And if not, do you know of any similar free programs? Thanks! ๐Ÿ˜€

    • We both use EZDrummer. The original price is $180, and yes, that is a lot. I found it on ebay for $100… Honestly I doubt you could find a similar program that is just as good for free. :/ But hey… you don't necessarily have to download it…. legally. Haha. ๐Ÿ˜‰

      • kirby_freak

Oooh, ouch… And lol, no thanks, I'm a law abiding citizen. ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks for the info though!

  • Lu

  • The beginning is kinda boring but I freakin love the rest!

  • Definitely this blog is very informative and neatly designed.
