Playing the Song of WTF?!

We’ll admit it: we don’t know a whole lot about cosplay. Nor do we passionately follow it.

However, at a recent convention, Anime Weekend Atlanta, an ocarina player named Heather cosplaying as Zelda bumped into one of the most well-known persons to portray Link, an individual who goes by “Linkinspirit.” Both able ocarina players, they decided to try recording some duets. And it is certainly a sight to see.

Thankfully, Heather posted the video on YouTube, which features the story of the incident and then ends with the duets.

Hit the jump to hear Link and Zelda playing Zelda duets!

Feel free to skip to the 1:20 mark for the ocarina playing!

  • Wise_Keaton

That was beautiful. -^_^- I really ought to practice the ocarina more so I'm ready for my next con… It's been ages since I've fiddled with my ocarina.

o.O whaddiya mean you don't follow cosplaying!? Zelda is like one of the most cosplayed things of all time! it's so common to see a Zelda cosplayer, I thought that was the reason you never said anything about it. because it's so normal!

yeah, that was some very pretty music.

Question of any of you Link cosplayers: How do you keep your hat on the back side of your head? I always end up wearing it Santa style and it just looks silly, and if I wear it Link style it keeps falling off.

    • You could pin it to your hair with bobby pins or flat clips. :]

      • Ezlo

        That's what I do too.

        • ChainofTermina

Now, why would you wear a hat when you ARE a hat?

          • LinebeckTheLemonhead

Haha,Ezlo would need a REALLY small hat to fit it on his head.

          • Ezlo

            Lol. Yes I would. xD

          • Joko tree

You would need an Ezlo mini-me. 🙂

      • HyruleMonk

Ah! I suppose that could work! I, for some reason, never thought of that. I'll try it out this Halloween!

That was amazing! I like Link's costume, but I don't think Linkinspirit was the right person to wear that costume. Nevertheless, this is still great.

  • That was the first time I'd seen an ocarina played outside Zelda, and it was a duet, so I feel doubly grateful. And it's funny to think that Heather saw LinkInSpirit as Link in person. Both came together nicely, especially with Zelda's Lullaby.

I cosplay as Link too, lol. I also play ocarina if only I and Linkinspirit could meet,(and yes it would make sense because he is twilight princess link while i am ocarina of time link) ah how epic it would be.

  • 1#Linkfan

Best thing ever but where did they get the Ocrinas?

    • Joko tree

Look on the internet and you will find a lot of places that sell Ocarinas.

    • twilian

      Pretty sure those were from

  • ZeldaGurl_

Wow, nicely done. The duet was great, considering how hard it is sometimes to get a good sound from the Ocarina. LinkInSpirit definitely looks good as a Link, although I wonder…. when you Cosplay as Link, should you talk??? All of my Zelda loving friends tell me I should Cosplay as Zelda because I look like her, but there aren't really any events down here, as where I live is boring. They seem really fun to go to, and I hope I get to join one soon. LinkInSpirit's costume was truly realistic and almost felt authentic, like it was made back then in the days of Hyrule.

KUDOS to them and their lovely duet, anyone can wear the outfit, but it takes some skill to sound good on the Ocarina.^^

    • Joko tree

I should stop making bad jokes.
