      Well the DS isn't exactly high-tech 😛

Even if nintendo shows off a "DS 2" I think they will hold it till next year or much later. The DSi XL hasn't even been released yet in NA or Europe.

Should I mention the Gameboy Micro.
the DS killed it shortly after it came out, if I remember correctly.

You are partially right, it got killed by the DS, but also because it was just dumb. Like watching a 7 inch tv while you have a 40 inch hanging on the wall

        • Edracon

Well, I'm sorry that I have a gameboy Micro and love it.
You don't really need a large screen to enjoy a game.

This is actually quite believable. For starters put this into consideration. At the end of the year Japan will be getting the 5th generation Pokemon game.

Now at this point Nintendo for the most part has more so opted to create new generation Pokemon games usually on the advent of a new portable console. Ruby and Sapphire came with the GBA, and Daimond and Pearl came out for DS early in the portables life.

So we may see a new portable system in Japan at the end of the year. The DS has had a nice long run to this point and I can only see a new system cementing their hold on the portable gaming industry. Anyhow I'm excited to hear exactly what will be revealed at this media summit.

"Ruby and Sapphire came with the GBA, and Daimond and Pearl came out for DS early in the portables life. " R and S, yes, but Diamond and Pearl didn't come out until more than two years after the DS was released, so we can rule that out. But think of this, Yellow came out a few years before the GBC, Emerald came out right before the DS (please correct me if I'm wrong, I'm not sure about that) and Platinum came out a few years before this new "DS 2"

Anyway, I'm certain that's all coincidence; why should it matter when the Pokemon games are released in relation to the release of new handhelds? Nintendo doesn't have a magical pattern that they use.

DS2 = tegra2, two touch screens and sleeker packaging. Calling it now. Anyone want to argue? FYI tegra2 = cortex a9 and an entry level nvidia GPU

    • steffan

Good thing you explained what tegra2 is, it all makes sense now <_<
