The Returners live 72 hour gaming marathon will start at 5:00pm CST time. If you haven’t been paying attention, The Returners are a fundraising group who raise money for various charities by organizing gaming marathons. In this case, they are raising money for Child’s Play. You can visit the live feed here.

Update: the marathon is currently underway.

The marathon will specifically deal with RPGs from the Nintendo 64 era and back- so you won’t be seeing recent games. The current planned games are Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, Super Mario RPG, Final Fantasy IV, and Final Fantasy IX.

I just wanted to be the first 1 to comment… Zelda rocks!!!

  • rammy

why is this news-worthy? not to be harsh, but 90% of the people who come here probably don't care.

    • Harry

Yeah screw charity and gamers how dare they raise money for sick children

      • rammy

I guess ZU has become a general gaming site then. Might as well update the Angry Nintendo Nerd's new videos as news.

Its the Angry VIDEO GAME Nerd
          he does other consoles too

          • rammy

He's still the Angry Nintendo Nerd to his old school fans.

          • WILL YOU PEOPLE MAKE UP YOU MINDS. First you say you want general gaming news when Zelda news is scarce, but now that your getting general gaming news your complaining that it's more than Zelda news

I think if there is no Zelda news, other video game news is good. It makes it so this is a site that you check everyday instead of just when there is a new Zelda game is coming out.

    Oh, and Chrono Trigger rocks!

  • Cody

So we report one piece of news on a gamer group raising money for charity and suddenly we're a general gaming site and all of our other Zelda newsposts and our comprehensive Zelda content on every game suddenly magically disappears?

    o.o

    • ZU has been offering general gaming news for much of the past year. This is nothing new whatsoever. In fact, I believe ZU has updated multiple times on the Returners in their marathons, some of which are Zelda related and some are not.

      • ZU has been doing general gaming news because there was a poll and most people voted for general gaming news when Zelda news is scarce.

  • Red

Yes, but only because you suck, Cody. :<
