The 10 most scenic locations in Twilight Princess
Despite the dark, grim nature of Twilight Princess, this game has some of, if not the most, scenic locations in the franchise. Before the release of Twilight Princess, fans wondered if the next game would be similar in style to the colorful nature of The Wind Waker. What fans were greeted and surprised with was a much darker, more mature version of Zelda. One of the major themes in Twilight Princess is dark versus light, which the game does an excellent job at showcasing both figuratively and physically. Even though Twilight may loom over parts of Hyrule, it does not take away from the beautiful, vast scenery this game has to offer.
10. Snowpeak

Peak Province, located in the northwestern part of Hyrule, is home to Snowpeak Mountain. Aside from warping, the player can only access Snowpeak through a small tunnel in Zora’s Domain. Whereas Zora’s Domain contains a lively, friendly atmosphere and acts as a safe haven, Snowpeak is isolated and almost unpopulated. It is frigid, silent, yet beautiful. The mountain range, inhabited only by White Wolfos, Ice Kesse, and a yeti couple, are treacherous, and should not be ventured alone. However, those who are fortunate and do reach the mountain peak are rewarded with a magnificent, breathtaking view of the surrounding area.
9. Upper Zora’s River

Zora’s Domain, which functions as Hyrule’s main water source, flows through Upper Zora’s River and down into Lake Hylia. Upper Zora’s River is surrounded by greenery and is located far from the busier parts of Hyrule, making this a quiet, peaceful area. This is also the perfect rest spot for those in need of a quick break before continuing on a long, arduous adventure. Located nearby is Hena’s Fishing Hole, where one might be lucky enough to catch the legendary Hylian Loach. Iza’s Rapid Ride is another fun activity in the area, where one can rent a boat to ride down Zora’s River and into Lake Hylia. Both activities are excellent at captivating the beauty and scenery of this quaint portion of Hyrule.
8. Ordon Village

Just located south of Faron Woods, this small village is home to Link as well as the other inhabitants of Ordona. The residents of the village are dependent upon agriculture, farming, and ranching to sustain their way of life. The main attraction at the heart of the village is the waterwheel, which supplies power. Just outside the village is Ordon Ranch, where Link is tasked with raising and herding the goats. Despite the small nature of the village, it is a cute and beautiful location to visit. Sera’s Sundries is a shop the player must visit for important supplies. Doing so also supports the village as well, so it’s a win-win situation.
7. Ordon Spring

Situated in the Ordona Province, this spring serves as the home of Ordona, the first Spirit of Light, who protects the area. This scenic spot is an ideal location for Ordonians wishing to clear their mind of any worries or stress. A small waterfall pools into a translucent body of water surrounded by soft sand. Nothing can be heard aside from the soothing sound of the waterfall. Because this spring is inhabited by Ordona, the water has been blessed with mystical properties that can heal those who seek aid for their injuries.
6. King Zora’s Grave

Located in a secret area behind the Graveyard in Kakariko Village lies the resting place of King Zora. There is a stark contrast between Kakariko’s desolate Graveyard and the elegant area surrounding the late King Zora. The lone grave is surrounded by two small waterfalls that flow gracefully into a small body of shimmering water. According to Queen Rutela, this is a sacred place for Zoras, and it is where they go to “eternally rest.” This area is peaceful yet somber and serves as a safe spot for Zora’s seeking consolation for their deceased loved ones.
5. Faron Spring

In the opening cut scene of Twilight Princess, Rusl and Link are seen speaking together at a beautiful location, later revealed as the Faron Spring. It can be assumed that this area is a relaxation spot for Ordonians. The second Spirit of Light, Faron, oversees the Faron Province and is the protector of the spring. Unlike Ordon Spring, the area is more open and surrounded by more greenery. The sparking waterfall and lush nature of the area are enough to attract any weary travelers. Its majestic scenery contrasts some of the darker areas in Hyrule, almost like a speck of light shining through an encroaching shadow.
4. Hyrule Field

Hyrule Field in Twilight Princess is colossal yet simply magnificent. Compared to its appearance from Ocarina of Time, this area is captivating and contains more landscape variety to admire. Also, this field is now separated into several different areas connected by pathways rather than being one huge area. When entering Hyrule Field for the first time, it is almost overwhelming to see how much there is to venture through and explore. Though partially shrouded in Twilight, the scenery is still captivating.
3. Lake Hylia

Lake Hylia is a central and iconic part of the Lanayru Province. The crystalline lake water is supplied from Zora’s River. This lake is home to the Spirit of Light, Lanayru, who is the protector of the area. It is said that this lake is a popular area for Hylian’s to gather to send wishes to Lanaryu. Underneath Lake Hylia resides the Lakebed Temple, which is guarded and protected by the Zora’s. This scenic area hosts the popular attraction, Fyer & Falbi’s Watertop Land of Fantastication, for guests looking for fun activities. Fyer’s Cannon Rides is not for the faint of heart, but it is required to access Falbi’s Flight-by-Fowl.
2. Sacred Grove

Deep inside the Faron Province, there is a secret location. An ancient temple inside these woods guards a sacred power, the Master Sword, wielded by the Hero of Time himself. The ambiance here is mysterious yet alluring. Beyond the vast greenery, waterfalls pour through the forest walls, creating small pools of water. A familiar song echoes as Link ventures through the grove, giving off the feeling that he has been here before in the past. Despite its inviting appearance, it’s important not to venture alone through these woods. Dangerous Puppets patrol this area, looking for anyone who dares to enter the grove. Despite the occasional danger, the area feels so magical and mystical.
1. Hena’s Fishing Hole

One of the main attractions Upper Zora’s River is known for is the Fishing Hole. The Fishing Hole is operated by a young woman named Hena, who is convinced she is a descendant of the legendary fisherman from Ocarina of Time. One of the best things about Hena’s Fishing Hole is that it is open all year round. Though the default season is spring, Link can visit it at any point. Link can also choose to take a boat out into the water to get a better view of the fishing area. Though the rare Hylian Loach can only be caught in the summertime, this area is absolutely gorgeous no matter which season you come to visit. From the cherry blossoms in the spring to the crispy orange leaves in the fall, you will not be disappointed with the scenery.
