Despite only being launched in September 2020, miHoYo’s Genshin Impact has become incredibly popular for its similarities to Breath of the Wild in both gameplay and appearance. However, there has been a large outcry from iOS device owners to be able to play the game using their physical controllers.
From the Genshin Impact team in its latest “Developer Discussions” blog, “The developers have heard your cries — from Version 1.3 onwards, devices that have had their operating systems upgraded to iOS 14 or higher will now support the Xbox Wireless Controller (Bluetooth Version), Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2, PlayStation DualShock 4 Wireless Controller, and MFi (Made for iOS) Bluetooth controllers (partial support)!”
The game’s version 1.3 update currently has no official release date from the developers, but the patch can likely be expected in the coming weeks.
Genshin Impact is currently free-to-play on the iOS App Store, Google Play for Android, PC, and PS4, and is currently in development for the PS5 and Switch.
