Spirit Tracks turns 10 this week, and we’re chugging along with related articles

As we approach the holiday season, we’re inevitably seeing a lot of notable Nintendo-related anniversaries of late – after all, many of the publisher’s biggest games have always been released in time for Christmas.

Following the 15th anniversaries of both The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap and the Nintendo DS system last month, we’re now close to the 10th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks.

Set 100 years after Phantom Hourglass, the sequel maintained the cel-shaded art style of its predecessor with a new Link and Zelda. This time, our hero’s seafaring days are over, as he has traded in the S.S. Linebeck for the Spirit Train.

Spirit Tracks first launched in North America on December 7, 2009. As is always the case with these anniversary celebrations, it’s hard to believe a decade has passed since the second Zelda DS game released. Starting today, we’ll be dedicating all of our regular columns to the title this week.

As always, please send in your thoughts and memories of the game!
