Fans spot first glimpses of Kotake on the Age of Imprisonment game battlefield, the name for the Hylian spear Warrior, and more

It’s almost time for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment to arrive, and with it comes the palpable excitement for many Zelda fans around the world. Closer studies of the game’s footage from Nintendo’s website is cropping up fascinating findings, which include the first-ever look of Twinrova’s Kotake on the battlefield, more character faces, and the name discovery of one of the everyday Hyrulean Warriors.

Notably, one Zelda fan by the name of Zelda Lore has dug up an intriguing Nintendo clip of Rauru, Kotake, some Poes, and several Gerudo in the middle of a battle campaign. They could be someplace in or outside the Gerudo Desert or maybe it’s a field, but the area is dark. We see Kotake standing nearby Rauru as he executes a light-based attack against what appears to be some sort of gloom-ridden enemies, but the clip is brief and it’s unclear what is happening. Some fans have surmised that Kotake is fighting with Rauru, while others are not as certain. The only thing we can say for sure is that it’s no doubt a glimpse of a rather exciting event.

Next, we now have the name of one of the everyday fighters who are currently known as the Warriors. Thanks to the sharp eyes of Zelda fan @sparklesart0w0, we now know that the Hylian fighter with the shield and the spear is named Typhan. His name appears over his head in one game clip with Calamo beside him in the distance.

@sparklesartowo has also found some intriguing screenshots of Zelda, Lanaria and Sonia, as well as Ardi with several Gerudo warriors. The latter reveals another unique looking Gerudo beside Ardi with dual buns, and a green bandana around her neck. We don’t know anything else about this Gerudo right now, but it’s not out of the loop to guess that she could be another fighter, or at least a character of interest in the story.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment releases worldwide on November 6, 2025. Check out our preorder guide here.
