Here’s where to preorder Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment

UPDATED 11/01/25: A double poster preorder bonus is discovered in Portugal and France, as well as the notebook preorder bonus in France. The Treasure Box preorder has opened in Canada and it is currently sold out.

UPDATED 10/21/25: A notebook preorder bonus is now available for customers in the UK and Ireland.

Are you ready to relive the Imprisoning War and defend Hyrule from the Demon King Ganondorf? Of course you are. Preorders have kicked off for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment on the Switch 2. Set for a worldwide release on November 6 this year, that’s coming a lot faster than we think. Where do you snag your copy? We got you covered. This preorder list contains many of the major retailers with live preorder links for the game from Australia, Japan, the UK and the US.

Japan preorders went live on September 26 and it is the first country to advertise a preorder bonus, with the UK and Ireland now advertising a bonus as well. Customers in Japan are able to receive the “Treasure Box” that was featured at the 2025 Tokyo Game Show. UK and Ireland customers can receive a free Age of Imprisonment notebook if they preorder through the My Nintendo Store in their region. Read below to see how eligible customers can get the preorder bonuses. Save this page for later as this list may be updated in the coming weeks with new information and preorder areas.

Australia

  • BIG W – Delivery is the only option available for this retail outlet but it comes with nice perks, which include free metro delivery, a 90-day return policy, and a rewards points system. Customers who are a wee bit tightarse can also make the preorder with several payment plan options, a rare but excellent find for this sort of purchase.
  • EB Games – Physical store pickup options are available here in addition to local delivery. This preorder has a higher price tag for some reason, but you only need to put down a small deposit to secure your preorder.
  • JB Hi-Fi – This popular retailer offers physical preorders and payment plan options too. Life hack: you can get a A$10 off coupon if you sign up for their membership program, which would make this the cheapest preorder option we have found on the list. If your preorder price drops before release day, the company states that they will refund you the difference to match it.
  • Mighty Ape Australia – The Ape is a department store that offers fast delivery across the entire Land Down Under, making it another reliable preorder option. It also has an adorable Aussie checkout button that says “Add to Trolley” on it. Who can possibly resist that?
  • My Nintendo Store Australia & New Zealand – Nintendo Australia is offering digital preorders of the game right now on the eShop, or you can purchase it physical from the My Nintendo Store site in Australia and New Zealand.

UPDATED 11/01: Canada

  • Videogames Plus (VGP) – Congratulations Canadians, the Treasure Box edition of Age of Imprisonment is open for preorder in this country. The bad news: preorders are already sold out at the time of this writing. But if it ever restocks we will post an update!

UPDATED 11/01/25: France

Japan

UPDATED 11/01/25: Portugal

  • Fnac – The bonus double poster item is available for customers in France as well as Portugal online through this retailer.

United Kingdom and United States

  • You can also compare preorders from five United States retailers on the same list. Amazon finally got off Nintendo’s “shadow ban” list and currently has Age of Imprisonment preorders live. Not surprisingly, the other four US retailers are Best Buy, GameStop, Target, and Walmart.
  • Alternatively, you can preorder Age of Imprisonment in the US at Video Game Heaven and The Video Game Cavern at a slightly discounted rate online.
  • You can also preorder Age of Imprisonment digitally in the US on the Nintendo eShop so you can play it as soon as release day. But think wisely because sooner availability also means that whopping 44 – plus change gigabyte chungus download has to go somewhere. (And you might as well brush up on Tears of the Kingdom while waiting on the epic download time.) A micro SD express card is strongly recommended. Weirdly enough, you cannot order a physical copy from the Nintendo US site.
