Two Joy-Con 2 attachable accessories were discovered in a July Nintendo patent filing: a crank and a clickable wheel.
First discovered by Nintendo Patents Watch, the crank attachment “features a rotary disc which is tracked by the mouse sensor through a window.” This attachment appears to connect to the Joy-Con 2 with magnets similar to those in the Nintendo Switch 2 console.

The second accessory patent discovered is a clickable wheel. “The clickable wheel’s “rotation is tracked by the mouse sensor via a gear train,” said Nintendo Patent Watch. “Its click is transmitted to the SL button. The attachment features a second button for pressing the SR.”

It is important to note that Nintendo files hundreds of patents per year, many of which never reach the market. Some patents like these accessories, however, can be exciting and have the potential to develop into real products available for purchase. What is for certain is that Nintendo is currently working on generating ideas that take advantage of their new mouse-mode technology for the Joy-Con 2 controllers.
