Google adds The Legend of Zelda easter eggs for upcoming movie stars

If you Google search the names of the newly announced cast for the upcoming The Legend of Zelda movie, you’ll find some fun easter eggs meant for hardcore Zelda fans.

Last week, Nintendo revealed the casting of Link and Zelda for the highly anticipated live-action movie. Bo Bragason is set to play the princess, while Benjamin Evan Ainsworth will portray our familiar hero on the big screen. Both actors are generally considered to be “lesser-known” talents, resulting in a likely high volume of Google searches following their latest casting announcements.

Fans of The Legend of Zelda series were met with a fun surprise while searching their names on Google’s search engine. If you search for Ainsworth’s name, the words “KYAAA! HYAAAAA!” briefly appear on screen, a nod to Link’s typical sword-slicing sound effect in several games in the Zelda series. Searching for Bragason’s name will display the text: “Well excuse me, Princess.” This is a reference to a famous line from the 1989 The Legend of Zelda animated series.

While many details about the film are yet to be revealed, it is clear that fan excitement for its release is already underway. The Legend of Zelda movie, directed by Wes Ball, will release in theaters on May 7, 2027.
