Real life Zonai device gacha machines appear in Japan stores

It’s a bird! It’s a plane! No, it’s… real life Zonai devices? Yes, that’s exactly what they are. Well, at least as gacha toys. Bandai has apparently partnered with Nintendo to sell small toys based on Zonai parts from Tears of the Kingdom. The parts feature common Zonai items such as the Fan, Wheel, Rocket, Flame Emitter, and more. The toys were recently spotted inside their own gacha machines at limited locations in Japan, which is a delightful nod to how the player acquires them via a similar fashion in the game itself. Gashapon machines, or gacha machines for short, operate similar to toy mending machines in Western countries. They are extremely popular in Japan and often contain higher quality items that cost more than the typical Western grocery store trinket. These Zonai toys cost 600 yen each, for example, which translates to today’s $4 USD.

According to Nintendo Dream Web and Nintendo Store Tokyo, the toys are currently available at Nintendo stores in Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto. They will also be available at Nintendo’s temporary pop-up store on the sixth floor of Kanazawa Forus until December 29. Each toy comes inside their own Zonai themed capsule with Zonai engravings on it, much like they appear in the game. They’re in limited numbers for now, but Bandai plans for more to come in their own Bandai gacha machines next year, but still available only in Japan. Time to get ready for those travel tickets to Japan soon.
